“Make Cents” Program Agreement

Qualifications

In order to qualify for the “Make Cents” program, the member must have a primary share savings account and qualifying Shoreline Credit Union checking account with a debit card.

Memberships set up as UTMA (Uniform Transfers to Minors Act) Custodial do not qualify for the “Make Cents” program.

All Shoreline Credit Union checking accounts qualify for the “Make Cents” program with the following exceptions: Health Savings Accounts, Business Checking, and Premier Business Checking.

Enrollment

A member is able to enroll in Shoreline Credit Union’s “Make Cents” program in person or online by completing the “Make Cents” program form. Enrollment is associated with the checking account, and the program will apply to all active debit cards associated with the enrolled checking account. A member can cancel enrollment in person by completing the “Make Cents” cancellation form.

Program details

After enrollment, each purchase using your Shoreline Credit Union debit card will be rounded up to the nearest whole dollar. The rounded amount will then be transferred from the checking account attached to the debit card into the savings account indicated by the member. Transfers will be completed in one lump sum at the end of each day.

When do transfers occur?

Shoreline Credit Union will transfer the total amount aggregated on a daily basis to the savings or money market account indicated by the member. In the event the member does not have enough funds to transfer the total amount, a partial transfer of whatever funds are available will be transferred to the selected savings or money market account. Transfers will not cause the account to post a negative balance nor post below available funds.

What transactions qualify?

Purchases run as debit or credit made with a Shoreline Credit Union debit card attached to a checking account enrolled in the “Make Cents” program.

ATM transactions and whole dollar transactions do not qualify and will not generate transfers.

Returns and reversals are not included in the “Make Cents” program.

Shoreline Credit Union reserves the right to cancel or modify the “Make Cents” program or terminate a member’s enrollment at any time without prior notice, at the credit union’s discretion.
