Let’s gather the information that you will need to your overdraft coverage. An overdraft occurs when there is not enough money available in your account to cover a transaction, but the Credit Union pays it anyway.
We offer two options to help cover overdrafts:
Courtesy Pay may allow qualified members, in good standing, to overdraw their account for approved transactions when sufficient funds are not available. If an overdraft is paid, your account balance may become negative and overdraft fees may apply.
Overdraft Transfer can transfer funds from a linked savings account or credit card to help cover transactions when your checking account balance is low. These options are typically less expensive than Courtesy Pay.
The Credit Union may authorize and pay overdrafts for:
Checks and other transactions using your checking account number
Automatic bill payments
The Credit Union will not authorize and pay overdrafts for the following transaction types unless you opt in below:
ATM transactions
Everyday debit card transactions
Courtesy Pay is paid at the Credit Union’s discretion, thus payment is not guaranteed. If an overdraft is not approved, the transaction may decline.
If an overdraft is paid through Courtesy Pay:
A fee of up to $35 may apply for each overdraft paid
There is no limit to the number of overdraft fees that may be charged
Please select one of the following options regarding overdraft coverage for ATM and everyday debit card transactions.
